INDUSTRY SOLUTION

Education

We build network, Wi-Fi, camera and fire systems for schools, universities and campuses in a single project. We design every system around student safety, the rhythm of class hours and classrooms where dozens of devices connect at once.

NEEDS

What the industry needs

  1. 01

One classroom means dozens of devices.

Interactive whiteboards, teacher computers, tablets and student phones connect to the network at the same time. Wi-Fi must be planned for the number of users in the classroom, not for square meters. A dropped connection during an exam or an online class stops the lesson.

  2. 02

The student network must be separate from the administrative network.

Student devices must not reach grading, records and administrative systems. Content filtering and per-user logging are also part of a school network.

  3. 03

Entrances and common areas must be visible.

School gates, the schoolyard, corridors and service areas must be monitored, and the school must know who comes in. Visitor entries must be logged. This has to be done with respect for student privacy.

  4. 04

The campus must work as a single network.

Faculties, dormitories, the library and administrative buildings can be hundreds of meters apart. A fiber backbone between buildings lets the whole campus be managed from one point. A fault in one building must not cut the connection of the others.

APPROACH

Installing without disrupting classes

The best time for installation in schools is during the holidays. The work is planned around summer and mid-term breaks, and any work left during the term is fitted outside class hours and into empty classrooms. In classrooms and corridors, the work area is separated from students and the site is left safe and clean every day. Wi-Fi coverage is re-measured with classrooms full, and fire detection tests are run when students are not in school.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where should security cameras be placed in schools?

Cameras are placed mainly at school entrances, in the schoolyard, corridors, stairways and service areas. They are not used in private areas such as toilets, changing rooms and the infirmary; cameras inside classrooms also need a separate assessment under KVKK (Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698) and the regulations that apply to the school. The retention period and who may view the recordings are set by the school administration’s policy.

How do you connect interactive whiteboards to a school network securely?

Interactive whiteboards should run in a network segment (VLAN) separate from the student and guest networks. This segment is allowed access only to the servers it needs and to the internet, and the whiteboards are updated centrally. This blocks access from a student device to a whiteboard, or from a whiteboard to administrative systems.

Why should student and staff networks be separated?

They should be separated for security, performance and logging. Student devices must not reach grading and administrative systems, and the staff network must not be affected by student traffic. Each network gets its own content filter, bandwidth limit and authentication rule.

How is campus Wi-Fi infrastructure planned?

First, the usage density of buildings and open spaces is defined; busy areas such as lecture halls and libraries are planned separately. Then access point positions are confirmed by on-site measurement, and all of them are managed from one point. Single sign-on across the campus means students do not have to log in again as they move between buildings.

Let’s plan your school’s or campus’s network and security infrastructure together.
